Another new condo project providing a boost to downtown Chicago

Demand for condos in the neighborhoods in and around downtown Chicago remains strong. As more proof of this, check out this story by Crain’s Chicago Business. It will give you a first look at a new condo tower now under construction near Holy Name Cathedral in downtown Chicago.

The project, One Chicago, will bring 77 luxury condo units to this busy slice of the city. JDL is the developer.

The units in this new tower will be priced from about $1.68 million to $28 million, according to the Crain’s story. The condo units will be located in the upper 30 stories of what will be a 75-story tower at the intersection of State and Superior streets in downtown.

The bottom floors of the tower will include for-rent apartment units.

The tower isn’t yet built, but that hasn’t stopped buyers from making offers. The Crain’s story says that six condos at One Chicago are already under construction. These units have sold at prices ranging from $1.7 million to $5 million. The first units of the new tower should be ready for occupancy in the summer of 2022.

One Chicago will also offer retail. Crain’s reports that the project will include a Whole Foods grocery store, Lifetime Fitness center and offices. It will also include a parking component.

The project’s height and location means that it will offer terrific views of the city and Lake Michigan. It’s also located near plenty of restaurants, shops and entertainment.

The condo units at One Chicago might be out of your price range. That doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t afford other condos in downtown Chicago or its surrounding neighborhoods.
