Even though he’s only been a member of the MG Group sales team for about a year, Bill O’Hare has been maneuvering through the real estate world since 2009. From growing up on Chicago’s South Side to studying in the Loop and now living in Evanston, Bill has become an expert on all things Chicagoland. Today, Bill looks back on his first year with MG Group.
How did you get involved in the real estate business?
Chicagoland real estate has been our family business since my grandfather immigrated here from Ireland. Most of my family is involved in some aspect of the real estate business to this day. I officially began my real estate career in 2009, managing rental properties in the northern suburbs, which opened doors to property management and sales in a wide variety of housing across Chicagoland.
How long have you been at MG Group? What have you learned from your time at MG?
Since joining MG Group in October 2021, I feel like I have added another decade of experience. It is hard to believe I have been here less than a year. In a business that often feels like it is “every person for themselves,” MG Group has taught me the power of a strong team having your back to exceed clients’ expectations.
What keeps you passionate about what you do?
The feeling of satisfaction I get from closing a deal. Knowing that I’ve helped a client find a new home or sell a property they’ve called home is the most fulfilling part of the journey.
How does MG Group stand out from other teams, in the Chicago area or even nationwide?
MG Group’s commitment to our clients and our full-service approach is unparalleled in our industry and in what I experienced in the real estate world as someone who interacted with other brokers. No detail is overlooked, and the impact of every decision is carefully considered. The Group’s innovative approach to showcasing properties, staying connected, and streamlining processes enables our clients to achieve their real estate goals faster and more completely.
What accomplishments are you most proud of with MG Group?
I am proud to have hit the ground running, forging strong relationships, exponentially widening my network, and closing nearly $2M in sales since joining the group.
What trends are you seeing in the Chicago residential market that are most interesting these days, or in looking forward to throughout the year?
There is never a dull moment in Chicago real estate. Signs are pointing to the breakneck pace of the last several months settling a bit this year, but demand for homeownership is still outpacing inventory. On a
personal level, I am looking forward to deepening my roots at MG Group while strengthening my knowledge and experience as well as expanding my business.
