Unpacking the ‘Master Bedroom’

Back in June, our team at MG Group committed to phasing the word “master” out of our vernacular when it came to bedrooms and bathrooms. Others in the real estate industry — both in Chicago and nationwide — have likewise chosen to eliminate the word due to its connotations on past injustices.

Recently, HomeLight published an article unpacking the ‘master bedroom,’ both its history and implications today. They consulted our founder Mario Greco to get his opinion on the change and why language matters, even when it comes to small, everyday words.
