MG Group Spotlight: Dave Adams
As one of the original members of the MG Group sales team, Dave Adams has seen it all. Now, as our Senior Sales Consultant for the Western Suburbs, he lends his extensive industry knowledge and expertise to help his clients find their new favorite neighborhood to call home. Today, Dave looks back on his years with the Group.
How did you get involved in the real estate business?
I had spent a number of years with internet startups and software companies big and small. I was looking for a change and the change found me in real estate. Some of my family at the time were creating a brokerage, but I wanted to strike out on my own.
How long have you been at MG Group? What have you learned from your time at MG?
I have been with the MG Group since 2004. Representing and servicing our clients well is critical to a successful transaction and relationship. Nearly any request is not too small or big to make sure our clients know they are being represented to the best extent possible.
What keeps you passionate about what you do?
Constant learning. Every client and deal is different. I learn from each buyer, seller, attorney, lender and inspection each time I interact with them and use those lessons to be even better the next time.
How does MG Group stand out from other teams, in the Chicago area or even nationwide?
Service. 100%. The entire Group is dedicated to client service and it shows. We are available to our clients, big and small, providing as much information as possible to give confidence to our clients in our abilities. As a Group, we share our experiences and knowledge with the goal of helping clients succeed.
What accomplishments are you most proud of with MG Group?
Starting with Mario when the Group was very small and helping to build the business from its infancy to where it is today.
What trends are you seeing in the Chicago residential market that are most interesting these days, particularly related to how COVID-19 has affected the suburban market?
The current trends of pricing, managing to get in front of inventory for clients and handling multiple offers for both buyers and sellers are very challenging in any market, but even more so with the lack of inventory during COVID-19. The process of showing properties during COVID-19 is not too different in the suburbs than before, but managing the inventory for buyers to get them properties as quickly as possible and then working in the multiple offer situations is much more the norm as a result of this pandemic.
